Arrival in Carcassonne

So I've been a little quiet. The house in Carcassonne didn't have wi-fi so I was unable to post.

Here goes then with a series of catch up's.

On Friday we drove from Aigues Mortes to Carcassonne arriving at the tiny airport in plenty of time to meet Madi and Jordan off their flight. The arrival lounge is the pavement outside the door and the mid-day heat was stifling. We made a very quick exit to an air-conditioned McDonald's for lunch and a trip around a supermarket before we checked in to the hotel. The only good thing about the tiny rooms which had no air-con was leaving them. The miniature scale and the heat was so claustrophobic. We headed down to the bar where we drank until the restaurant opened for dinner. We had a lovely long dinner as the sun went down and it got ever so slightly (but not much) cooler.

After a very hot night and breakfast we headed to Carcassonne Plage to wait until we could check in to the apartment. With around 20 minutes to go until the time we were due to meet the agent at the apartment I discovered that although I had every piece of information necessary up to this point I had failed to make a note of the apartment address! luckily Charlie was at home and was able to text it to us.
