89 Rue Aimee Ramon, Carcasson

We rather neglected to take many photo's of the apartment and any that we do have don't really do it justice. The outside was deceiving, a narrow back street close to the centre of the city. All the houses were shuttered and most were closed against the fierce sun but every now and then you got a glimpse through the windows. There were occasional scruffy, double garage doors which opened to reveal beautiful courtyards. I think you could describe the flat as 'bohemian' pretty, un-matching plates and cutlery, fine colourful curtains, beads and tasselled lamp-shades. Double doors opened onto a pretty courtyard. There were flats and patio's all around us and it was quite difficult to work out quite how they all fitted together.

We were within walking distance of the main city squares, the river and the castle (although the walk to the castle was a bit hilly for pregnant people!)

It was described in the adverts as 'a little corner of France' and that's just what it was. Quiet and peaceful with a bakers within yards and bars, music, markets and restaurants only a short walk away. The perfect second week to our holiday.
